Ambassador Sena Siaw-Boateng has blazed a trail for women diplomats in Africa, parallel to a career as one of Ghana's foremost lawyers.
Sena served as Ghana's head of mission to the European Union and ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg from 2019 to 2023.
Her leadership of Ghana's advocacy in Brussels was instrumental in positioning Ghana as the EU's leading partner in the region, securing support for major projects in Ghana relating to trade, energy, defence and health.
She previously served in Cuba, South Africa, Spain and the UK, and prior to her ambassadorial post in Brussels was the head of cabinet to the Ghanaian foreign minister.
As one of Ghana's most accomplished barristers and solicitors, Sena is the head of her own law firm in Accra.
A doyenne of many diplomatic tennis tournaments, Sena also speaks French and Spanish.
